Autoflower Growing: Week 4 - 6

Updated: Apr 11, 2022

Week 4:

During its fourth week, your plant will begin to approach and transition into its flowering stage. Ensuring substantial light and water (0.5l per day) is being absorbed by the plant, further leaves and growth will continue in order to prepare for production of buds.

You may make use of some more LST at this point to flatten the canopy of the plant further and increase light absorption. This will allow you to level out points of growth for buds, and promote further growth as well as more even development of those special nuggets.

It is ideal to begin paying attention to relative humidity levels too. Maintaining a level of 40% - 60% RH would be desirable. High humidity may result in issues such as mould forming on plants or buds and can result in a grow going to the trash. A temperature range of around 20°C - 25°C would be ideal too.

Your plant has now begun flowering, and your buds should begin appearing. Small white-ish tentacle like strands will become visi

arking the regions where buds will begin their growth.

At this point, a height of between 26cm - 32cm should have been reached by your plants, and you can start to adjust your lighting (if necessary) to cater more properly to the plant's needs. The flowering stage of your autoflower will require more red spectrum light which is needed in order for buds to grow to their full potential.

An decreased requirement of nitrogen and increased requirement of phosphorus, calcium, potassium and magnesium will be present. Providing these will continue to maximise your growth potential, quality and final yield.

Week 6:

Entering the sixth week of growth, you may notice that your plant is starting to let off a bit of that sweet tangy odour. Each region of growth for buds should start to display bud growth, and increase in size over the coming weeks.

At this point, watering can be increased (1.0l per day), and continue to maintain a lower humidity within the range of 40% - 60% RH. This will ensure you will not lose your buds to mould. Also be sure to adjust the height of your grow light depending on the height of your plant, ideally keeping it around 50cm from the canopy.
